About

One of the best-preserved Roman provincial cities in the world. Walk chariot-rutted streets, through triumphant arches, past grand theaters, and along colonnaded avenues built 2,000 years ago.

Jerash — ancient Gerasa — is one of the most complete and well-preserved Roman cities outside of Italy. It was founded in the 1st century BC and grew into a prosperous city in the Roman Decapolis. The remarkably intact ruins include a stunning oval forum, two theatres, multiple temples, and a colonnaded street nearly 600 metres long.
